Jake brings two decades of experience with him, having covered major industry events, breaking news, one-on-one interviews, and more.

When he's not playing World of Warcraft, he's usually on the hunt for good food and a refreshing beer to wash it down.

The newest expansion for the Pokémon TCG is set to release this May and will feature a moment that has been over a decade in the making.

Chaos Rising will launch worldwide on May 22nd, with prerelease tournaments taking place from May 9th through May 17th. The expansion will also launch on Pokémon TCG Live on May 21st.

In total, the Chaos Rising expansion will feature over 120 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and over 35 cards featuring special illustrations.

An announcement on the official Pokémon website gives us a look at some of the cards we can expect, including four Mega EX cards for Pyroar, Greninja, Dragalge, and Floette. It's that fourth Pokémon, though, that's special, as it finally wraps up a 13-year plothole.

In 2013, Pokémon X and Y delivered one of the best and most heartbreaking stories in franchise history.

The narrative surrounding AZ and his desire to reunite with Floette undoubtedly carried what was an overall lackluster main narrative. Their relationship and bond were well worth it.

However, despite that emotional reunion at the end of Pokémon X and Y, there's been one Pokémon that has yet to receive the Mega treatment in well over a decade: Floette.

That all quietly changed last year when Mega Floette was made available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which makes sense considering the game, like X and Y, takes place in the Kalos region. However, it's easily something you can miss, as it's only obtainable after completing the game.

Well, good news for those who missed out: Mega Floette ex is making its way to the Pokémon TCG in the upcoming Chaos Rising expansion, meaning fans can finally see this beloved storyline reach a satisfying conclusion.
